the relese date was last year in deember but it way way past that date i mena i acn see one or two days late but like a whole mounth whats going on and where are u at by coding

Maybe a little late reaction, but what happened is that we decided to go on with developing and to do it with different sprites/tiles.

Also the host for the game is gone, hope we'll find a new one soon.

A host is on dedicated computers that can support a lot of people. Even if your pc is good, like mine u can't handle it. I also don't think you keep it on for 23-24 hours a day.

Well abyss send me one too then, wont be wrong to have more hosts. Im pretty dedicated, but ofc not 24/7, but if im home from school ill put it on, until i go to bed (and thats usually late), in holidays and weekend i can leave it on for like 20 hours a day. So tell me if u like it.

We can better start with one host, that can have much people and can be on 24/7

Windows XP and Vista(If you have anything less than XP then your computer clearly doesn't have the horse power to handle a server) have a max connection limit of 10 that is hardcoded into the kernel. So if Barson or Shik host, only ten people can access it at a time. If you want a host, get an actual server.

Nah, medium pc's with a good internet connection can host around 50-100 players or something.

You clearly have no knowledge about hosting a server. (Or you do but misjudge it this time, atleast for my computer).

No my computer aint a monster, but i am sure it's better then most of you guys have.

My Computer:
System: Windows XP Professional/Media center (5.1 build 2600). Service Pack 3.
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) D CPU 3.20 Ghz.
Memory: 1536 MB (1.5 GB).
DirectX-version: DirectX 9.0c.
Video-Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT (DDR2 512 MB).
Internet: Wanadoo, Orange, now called: Online 4 MB on Ethernet cable.

Note: I know this is by far not the best, trust me. But still outclasses most of the people here. I might be an exception, but with the video card i have most people don't play 2d games like DBU. (Not that mine is uber l33t, but does the job for decent 3d games).

Also i have a stable internet connection, trough a router (Yes i can forward ports).

And 1.5 GB memory is a lot on XP. (I also have the latest security updates and Service Pack 3.

Ok maybe the limit is around 20 (not 10 for sure) for me on 3d Game's with people from far away country's.

You do know DBU will be 2d, very simple which even the oldest video cards should be able to run it? My computer plays games like world of warcraft at 20-40 Frame's per second, and out of city's 30-80 Frames per second. Now imagine how i would play/run a 2d game like DBU. World of warcraft is located in France if im right, and my connection to the server is around 64 MS Latency. I won't go in detail but that is low (and low latency = good). Now imagine on a 2d game.

Conclusion: So Abyss is right, and i should have no problem with hosting for 50 people for sure, and up to 100.

So just give me the compiled or w.e server and ill host this game with pleasure for you people. Ofcourse people close to me have a more stable connection, but that counts for 99.99% of the servers.

And you would dedicate your PC to hosting it... I am not quite sure you inderstand the term dedicated server also. The graphics don't have anything to do with hosting. the player downloads all the graphics with the game.

Also, 4MB is actually pretty slow. also, that is asynchronous most likely, so you probably have something like 4MB download, 1MB Upload, and upload is just as important.

A good server would need high speed, more ram and processing power.

Personally, I'm going to have to agree with Serak. I used to work with DSL for a living.
