OK, I started working on the alignment stat. I will post here to keep you updated and explain the stat to you.

You can skip the quoted parts. It's a background story XD

The Alignment stat is based on your actions ingame. You can raise, or lower, your alignment by doing good or evil quests and by killing NPC's. You become good when you kill evil NPC's and vice versa duh.

I first started it all wrong because I was told you couldnt enter negative values in the database. So I made 3 sorts of alignment, evil, good and alignment. The Alignment stat was the one you saw and it was based on your good minus your evil alignment stat. Everything was going fine until I had to set limits on the stat. Because we dont want the alignment to drop below zero or exceed a certain number. Also this would make it hard to add requirements for quests and items since its based on 2 stats.
Now I did it in another way (much easier btw) and now it is just 1 stat. Alignment. As of right now only killing NPC's affects your alignment but Im working on quest rewards for alignment. I will also make an alignment bar or something to spice it up a little. Plain numbers are boring.

Whats Next?
- alignment rewards for quests
- alignment requirements for quest
- alignment requirements for items
- stat increases based on your alignment
- A new NPC AI that checks your alignment and attacks if you are very evil/good

Again, quoted parts arent important

I finished the requirements for quests and the rewards. We can now set the alignment reward you get from accepting quests and for finishing quests. We can also set the requirement to accept a quest and added server messages!

Further explanation: Setting the alignment requirement was hard to do since we had to add an extra stat to make it work. I thought I could do it with just the alignment stat but that didnt work for 'evil' quests. Since it checked if the user had a alignment higher than the required alignment for evil quests. This way we couldnt make quests for only evil people. I fixed it by adding another stat that you cannot see ingame but its only handled in the server.

Whats Next?

-NPC AI - This will be hard Smile
